Stable Release of Nothing OS 4.0 on Android 16 Now Available

The stable version of Nothing OS 4.0, which is based on Android 16, is now being rolled out after extensive testing. Users of the Nothing Phone 3 received this update first, with the version number B4.0-251117-1909 coming to their devices.

For those who were participating in the open beta phase, the update size is around 700 MB, whereas those transitioning from the previous stable version will see a download size of approximately 3 GB. To install the update, users of the Nothing Phone 3 can navigate to Settings > System > System Updates.

It is recommended by Nothing to back up your vital data before proceeding with the installation. Additionally, note that post-update, the device might become warm and the battery might deplete quicker due to background optimizations.

The rollout schedule for Nothing OS 4.0 on other devices remains unspecified, though the company has confirmed that the update will reach other smartphones within the upcoming weeks. CMF phones can expect the update by year-end, while the Phone (3a) Lite will receive its Android 16 update at the onset of the new year.
