Alibaba’s latest venture into smart glasses technology brings forth the Quark AI S1 and the more budget-friendly Quark AI G1. Notably, the S1 model is equipped with innovative transparent micro-OLED screens and offers a variety of color choices and lens configurations, emphasizing its suitability for diverse daily applications. On the other hand, the G1 model provides essential functionalities at a lower price point, ensuring inclusivity in tech innovation.
The pricing sets the S1 at 3,799 yuan, or roughly $537, while the G1 model starts at 1,899 yuan, which is about $268. The main distinctions between these models are rooted in the display capabilities and lens types.
A significant aspect of this series is its seamless integration with Alibaba’s ecosystem, allowing users to access well-known services like Alipay and Taobao effortlessly. Additionally, connections to music platforms such as QQ Music and NetEase Cloud Music are supported. These smart glasses offer features aimed at enhancing daily activities, including instant translation, price recognition, navigation support, and transcription.
Alibaba plans to extend the availability of its Quark series beyond China, with a global version slated for release in 2026. However, specific countries where these advanced smart glasses will be available have yet to be announced.
